To assist in providing a high quality, customer-focused planning service by undertaking complex and high priority planning matters as they arise, investigating alleged breaches of planning control, pursuing the most appropriate and effective action to remedy these, working closely with area team planners and officers in other services. The position works closely with the team leader and deputy team leader of the Enforcement/Appeals and Telecommunications team.
Successful Applicants will have:
A minimum of two years’ post qualification experience, including one years’ experience of planning enforcement work, including responsibility for dealing with a planning and enforcement case load.
Experience of advising members, senior officers, developers and the public on planning and enforcement issues
Experience of advising members, senior officers, developers and the public.
Dealing with the full range of minor and other major planning cases and enforcement investigations, with extensive formal and informal negotiation, through to resolution
RTPI recognised planning degree or equivalent and eligibility for RTPI membership or equivalent
Sound basic knowledge of relevant planning legislation, policies and procedures
